Who owns this material

Kings and Kingdoms is owned by OLLY AND OLLY LLC.

The text, design and artwork created for this website are owned by OLLY AND OLLY LLC, and are protected by copyright.

Material that belongs to others

Not everything connected to this work is ours to give away.

A documentary draws on photographs, footage, music, archive material, and contributions from the people, families and institutions whose stories are being told. Some of that material belongs to other rights holders, and some of it is used under permission or licence for a specific purpose.

Where material on this site belongs to someone else, their rights remain theirs. We are not able to give you permission to use it, and we will say so if you ask.

What you can do without asking

You are welcome to read and browse this site, and to share links to any page.

What needs permission

Please ask us first if you would like to:

  • reproduce or republish any of the written text;
  • use any photograph, video still, artwork or logo from this site;
  • use anything from this site commercially;
  • include our material in a publication, broadcast, film, exhibition, course or product.

We would rather have the conversation. Asking usually takes less time than assuming.

Press and editorial use

We are glad to work with press and editorial users, and we would rather help you get it right than see the work misrepresented.

Images we are able to provide come with the credit and usage terms that apply to them. Please use them as agreed, and please do not crop, alter or recolour them in a way that changes what they show.

Licensing and reuse requests

Tell us what material you are interested in, how you would like to use it, where it would appear and for how long.

We consider each request on its merits. Whether we can agree to it depends on the rights OLLY AND OLLY LLC holds or controls in the particular material. Some material belongs to others and is not ours to license. Some requests we may decline for cultural, editorial or contractual reasons.

Names and marks

Please do not use either in a way that suggests an affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship or connection that does not exist, or in a way that could be confused with our own material.

Cultural material and living traditions

Where material relates to a royal house, community or institution, we may consult them before agreeing to a use, and we may decline a request even where we would be free to say yes on copyright grounds alone.

Raising a copyright concern

Please tell us which page the material appears on, identify the material as precisely as you can, and explain what your rights in it are. We will look into it.
